Letter from the President,
British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico
Thank you for visiting our site!
On behalf of the British Chamber of Commerce, I warmly welcome you to our website. Here you will find important information about BritChaM’s mission, strategies, and objectives, as well as data, news, and documents related to investment and trade activities between Mexico and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It is an honor for me to have received the trust to lead BritChaM in this new phase. First, I want to recognize the excellent work that has been done so far, which has greatly propelled the Chamber’s goals in Mexico. In this regard, I reaffirm my commitment to BritChaM to contribute all I can to coordinate efforts and achieve its objectives.
Building on the progress made, we have a new Work Plan that will help us continue contributing to BritChaM’s mission. This plan consists of two strategic pillars, encompassing five specific tasks, and includes two fundamental transversal tasks.
The first pillar concerns Tools for Investment and Trade. It involves leveraging internal information and collaboration to create concrete instruments that facilitate economic promotion. The main tasks of this pillar are: 1) creating internal interaction tables to enhance communication between working groups; and 2) developing economic opportunity maps that contribute to the creative reorganization of the information we work with.
The second pillar focuses on Proactive Strategic Interaction. The objective is to strengthen BritChaM’s positioning and its collaboration networks. The main tasks of this pillar are: 3) strengthening and expanding alliances to cultivate excellent relationships with allied organizations, such as universities, sectoral organizations, and NGOs; 4) holding a Regional Forum for Latin America to facilitate the beginning of greater collaboration among BritChams in the region; and 5) engaging in dialogue with authorities, creating spaces for communication with relevant actors respectfully and openly, while always maintaining the Chamber’s politically neutral nature.
Particular emphasis is placed on two transversal tasks to ensure the successful execution of the work plan: a) Inclusion; and b) Digitalization. Building on the strong foundations BritCham already has in inclusion and gender perspective culture, a constant working method will be reinforced to ensure these values guide decisions, operations, and projects. Regarding digitalization, a modernization project will be implemented to have efficient tools that improve communication and facilitate our daily tasks.
Thank you for your participation in the British Chamber of Commerce. I invite you to continue enriching this work proposal with us and to face the challenges and enormous opportunities ahead every day.
Angélica Ruiz Celis.
